IBS denied reports of negotiations with Cisco on supplies to Russia

MOSCOW, 19 Oct – PRIME. The Russian IT-holding IBS does not conduct and does not plan to negotiate with the American manufacturer of network equipment and software Cisco on the organization of deliveries to Russia, RIA Novosti was told in the company.

Experts allowed the resumption of Cisco deliveries to Russia

“The IBS group of companies does not and does not plan to negotiate with Cisco on organizing the supply of telecommunications equipment and software to the Russian Federation,” IBS said.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Izvestia newspaper, citing sources in the communications market, reported that Cisco could resume deliveries to Russia. At the same time, the publication clarifies that this is not about the full return of the company to the Russian Federation, but about the import of products through an intermediary; IBS can become a distributor. MForum Analytics analyst Alexei Boyko, in a conversation with RIA Novosti, also noted that “formally, nothing prevents it (Cisco – ed.) from restoring the sale of its solutions to Russia directly or through an intermediary represented by, for example, IBS.”

In June, Cisco announced that it had begun a gradual exit from the markets of Russia and Belarus. The company at the same time was going to keep in touch with partners and customers to resolve financial issues, including the return of funds for prepaid services and software.
