Inno3D warns that breaching cryptocurrencies may invalidate the warranty

A phenomenon that has grown strongly lately is the mining of cryptocurrencies (mining). The increased interest in this has, among other things, created problems for Nvidia, which has previously announced that it has not been able to meet the demand for new graphics processors as a result.

Now a user on Reddit reports that the manufacturer Inno3D has started warning customers to use their graphics cards for the purpose. A marking on the box states that the card is not intended to be used for this and the company reserves the right to invalidate the warranty if damage occurs in connection with it.

The reason is believed to be that warranty-related has increased as a result of the increased interest in cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum. This is because the graphics cards often work around the clock under full workload, which increases the risk of fans or other components breaking.

However, it is not clear how the company intends to determine whether the card was used for the purpose.
