Unfortunately Bryant did not give clues about an official release date for this new generation, although he did anticipate that its launch will be “very soon.” This gives force to the rumors that they will be announced this October 27 during the Intel Innovation event, although there is still no official confirmation.
Regarding your arrival at the market, it is estimated that the 12th. Generation of Intel Core “Alder Lake-S” processors could arrive on November 4. This, thanks to an MSI post plus several industry sources that would confirm it.
Alder Lake will be a new and significantly improved architecture compared to Rocket Lake and the previous 14nm architectures. It will have a new hybrid core design (Similar to ARM’s big.LITTLE) and much higher performance with 19% IPC improvement over Rocket Lake. In addition, it will be compatible with the new faster DDR5 memories, and the PCI-E 5.0 interface that doubles the bandwidth compared to PCI-E 4.0.
The imminent launch of Alder Lake gives Intel the confidence to declare that AMD’s leadership is about to end. Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger stated that AMD has done a good job in recent years, but that has already ended Alder Lake and Sapphire Rapids on the Horizon.
