As reported by Ian Cutress of Anandtech, "Some of NUC's most prominent vendors receive incentives not to put AMD versions together (or delay them)", a serious indictment that would indicate that Intel is paying manufacturers not to use competing products.

This isn't too surprising, as we don't think Intel is letting go of the business it built so fast now that AMD is launching APUs with the same CPU throughput and built-in graphics much more powerful than Intel's. In any case, it is curious that brands accept these "incentives", which have to be high enough to compensate the profits that companies could have by selling AMD-based Mini-PCs, and that there have been no legal actions if this accusation were 100% true.
It will be interesting to see what happens to these delayed mini-PCs that Cutress mentions in her tweet, to analyze not only their performance, but also their impact on the market, which is what Intel is seeking to reduce with these “incentives”.
Do you think this accusation will be true? What impact do you think the launch of AMD Mini-PCs will have on the Intel NUC market?
