IOTA Introduces Chronicle Long-Term Storage Solution

IOTA introduced the Chronicle solution, which will allow for a long time to store the entire transaction history of the node, as well as provide constant access to this data.

Transaction history occupies a large amount of storage, so site owners have to gradually delete data about old transactions. However, in some cases, especially in a corporate environment, it is necessary to store this data for a long period of time. For example, financial transactions must be stored for 10 years, and identification data is stored for life.

Chronicle allows you to store the entire transaction history of the node. The solution will soon be ported to the Rust programming language to interact with Bee, the new IOTA host launch software. Host owners will be able to receive commissions in IOTA tokens for providing transaction data. The developers claim that the reliability of the data will be absolute.

In addition, the company plans to expand and complement the functionality of Chronicle and invited the community to take part in this – special grants will be launched for this. Also in the near future, a third-party company will conduct an audit of Chronicle.
