“Iran has also been under sanctions for a long time, so Russia and Iran now understand each other more and strengthen relations,” he said at Russian Energy Week.

According to the deputy minister, Iran and Gazprom have already created a roadmap for the fields and have assembled several working groups. In addition, Russia will be able to supply its fuel to the countries of the Persian Gulf through the territory of Iran.

“There is a good opportunity … in order to transport Russian gas and oil through the territory of Iran, there are buyers in the countries … of the Persian Gulf,” Asadzadeh said.

He noted that the joint work of the countries in the supply of energy resources can be very beneficial, since Iran’s neighbors need gas. In particular, its big consumer is Pakistan, which is experiencing a shortage of resources and electricity, the deputy minister stressed.
