Iran wants to conclude agreements with Russia on cooperation in oil and gas

MOSCOW, 6 Oct — PRIME. Iran expects to conclude several agreements with the Russian Federation in the oil and gas sector within six months, hopes for greater unity with Moscow on the situation in the field of energy resources, Iranian Deputy Oil Minister Ahmad Asadzade told RIA Novosti.

The White House urged to reduce dependence on foreign oil producers
“During the recent talks between Russia and Iran, good progress was made on the implementation of the memorandum with Gazprom. I hope that several agreements will be concluded within the next six months,” he said.
Commenting on the situation on the energy market and the OPEC+ meeting, Asadzade said: “We hope that the current conditions will lead to greater cohesion between Iran and Russia in the development of bilateral projects in the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors.”
Earlier, Gazprom and the National Oil Company of Iran signed an agreement estimated at $40 billion, which involves the development of the Kish, North Pars and a number of other fields, the Iranian side reported about this in mid-July.

OPEC+ decides to cut production again
OPEC+ has agreed to cut oil production by 2 million barrels per day from November, and will take production levels agreed for August as a baseline. OPEC+ explained its decision by uncertainties around the global economy and forecasts for the oil market.
