Energodar authorities to discuss safety at ZNPP with IAEA experts

MOSCOW, 7 Oct – PRIME. Experts from the IAEA and the authorities of Energodar maintain communications, discuss the issue of safety and operation of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, said Alexander Volga, head of the city administration.

“There is contact with the IAEA employees who are on the territory of the plant. We discuss only working issues related to the safety and operation of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, as well as directly with the work of the administration to ensure the life of the city and the safety of residents who live directly here,” he told RIA Novosti.

Volga added that a breakthrough of the Ukrainian military to the station and the city is impossible, since the combat units are constantly in a state of readiness.

In early September, an IAEA mission led by General Director Rafael Grossi arrived at the ZNPP. The head of the delegation of “Rosatom” and the staff of the station led the experts through its territory and showed the sections of the station that had been damaged during the shelling of the Ukrainian troops. Two IAEA employees remained at ZNPP on a permanent basis.

As a result of the visit of the mission, the IAEA published a report in which it confirmed the fact of shelling of the ZNPP.
