Italy would host an intel chip factory

Given that it is not possible to have dependence on a single country for various reasons, according to some sources Italy would host a intel factory for the manufacture of chips.

As can be read in a statement, Intel and Italy are intensifying talks on the investment of around 8,000 million euros to build an advanced semiconductor plant.

If this agreement were to come to fruition, it would assure Italy about 10% of the 80,000 million euros that the American company is looking to spend during the next decade in Europe for the manufacture of all types of semiconductors, and in this way avoid the future chip shortage.

In addition, there is also talk that Germany, the largest economy in the European Union, is at the forefront of receiving the green light to build its own semiconductor factory.

We are encouraged by the many possibilities to support the EU digital agenda and semiconductor ambitions by 2030. While the current negotiations are ongoing and confidential, we plan to make an announcement as soon as possible.

In addition, there are already many countries in the European Union that are willing to be part of this great project in order to reduce their dependence on semiconductor supplies from China.

In this way, another European country joins the construction of factories outside of China so that the supply of chip does not stop again as it has done since mid-2020.
