It's Official AMD already allows Ryzen 5000 to be compatible with 300 Series motherboards

After months of requests from the community (and unofficial support from motherboard companies), AMD has officially announced support for the Zen 3 family of processors on 300 series motherboards., including the X370, B350, and A320 chips. This news comes with the launch of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

AMD plans to launch seven new processors, three based on Zen 2, three on Zen 3, and lastly, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. The Ryzen 3 4100, Ryzen 5 4500 and 4600G are the new desktop processors and will be compatible with 300, 400 and 500 series motherboards. Meanwhile, the Ryzen 5000 family, in addition to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, will support 300-series boards, including the A320 chipset. The AGESA update that enables the same is scheduled to roll out in April, around the same time as the new processors.

Obviously, this movement comes to fight against the low-end Intel Alder Lake processors, which are recovering lost market due to their great performance and price. By accompanying one of these CPUs with an H670, B660 or H610 motherboard, and DDR4 memories, the perfect combination is created where we can build a powerful PC at a low cost.

But the good thing about all this is that if an AMD user, you were thinking of switching to the blue side, with this new release from AMD, it is cheaper if you stay where you are and change only the CPU and you save yourself from changing to a motherboard with the LGA1700 socket.

During the next days or weeks the main motherboard manufacturers will release their new microcode AGESA 1.2.0.7 in the form of BIOS to insert the necessary code to support these CPUs in addition to taking advantage of and adding the optimizations and fixes that AGESA 1.2.0.6 brought.
