It's official, AMD and Intel suspend sales to Russia

Russia has suffered several sanctions, especially from the US and the European Union, after the invasion of Ukraine. We have already shown in many news that industry giants like AMD and Intel had suspended shipments of their products to Russia. Now, both companies have officially commented on the situation, making it clear that the Russian territory is not part of the negotiations at the moment.

An AMD representative said, “Based on the sanctions against Russia by the US and other nations, at this time, AMD is suspending its sales and distribution of products in Russia and Belarus”. The initiative had already been taken days ago, but now AMD makes its position official regarding the war in Ukraine.

Intel calls for peace, saying it has raised $1.2 million through employee donations and campaigns for war victims.

“Intel condemns Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, we have suspended all shipments to customers in both Russia and Belarus. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this war, including the people of Ukraine and neighboring countries and all those around the world with family, friends and loved ones in the region.

We are working to support all of our employees in this difficult situation, especially those with ties to this region. We launched a donation campaign through the Intel Foundation, which has raised over $1.2 million in support (for victims), and we’re proud of the work our teams in Poland, Germany, and Romania are doing to help victims. refugees. We stand with the people of Ukraine and the global community calling for an immediate end to this war and a speedy return to peace,” Intel said.

The suspension of hardware sales and shipments to Russia should have little impact on AMD and Intel sales, as the country receives 0.1% of product shipments from these companies. TSMC, the world’s largest semiconductor maker, will also suspend its business with Russia.

In addition to several technology companies, several game studios have already spoken out against the Russian attackin addition to raising funds to help the victims of the war.
