The Nvidia CMP 170HX is already sold in Japan, it costs $ 5,300

While Nvidia has not officially announced it yet, we have already seen several appearances of its CMP 170HX dedicated to mining, and now for the first time it was seen at auction in Japan, where it was sold for 600,000 yen, which is equivalent to almost 5,300 dollars. .

From what we see, the GPU has a passive cooling, being intended to be placed in racks with high-power fans at the rear and front. Although it has a single 8-pin connector, it actually requires the connection of two 8-pin connectors to an adapter that joins them into one, which can be seen in the following photo:

According to the vendor, there are no drivers to use it yet and it was only tested to be detected by the system. In this way, the buyer paid more than $ 5,300 for something that he cannot use yet until it is officially announced and its drivers are published. There is no indication yet on when this announcement could arrive, so the wait could be long.

Unfortunately its specifications were not confirmed, although according to rumors it is based on the GA100 core, has 4480 Cuda Cores enabled, 8GB of HBM2e memory with 1.5TB / s bandwidth, PCI-E 1.1 x4 interface, and reaches 164MH / s with one consumption of 250W. It will be interesting to see when Nvidia announces it and what price it ends up having, although it will clearly not be cheap at all.

What do you think about the price for which this Japanese user bought the CMP 170HX? Do you think it was a good buy or that later on you can get it for less?
