Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey announced on Twitter that he plans to move temporarily to Africa. He plans to live on the African continent for 3-6 months by the middle of next year.
“Sad to leave the continent … for now. Africa will define the future (especially bitcoin!). I’m not sure where yet, but I will be living here for 3-6 months in the middle of 2020. I am grateful I was able to experience a small part of African culture. ”
The decision was made after touring several African countries, such as Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa and Ethiopia. During this visit, Dorsey held several meetings with local entrepreneurs to discuss the possibilities of improving living conditions.
Bitcoin Bull
Apparently, the CEO of Twitter, known as a visionary for the crypto industry, believes that Africa is ideal for cryptocurrencies.
He claimed that Bitcoin could have great potential for expansion in African countries. The crypto industry on this continent is growing rapidly, stimulated by the lack of banking services coupled with the extension of access to the Internet.
The popularity of cryptocurrencies in this region has also been demonstrated by Google Trends. The first places to search for the term Bitcoin were almost constantly occupied by African countries.
Dorsey sees huge potential in Africa. It is often ignored by large technology companies because of the lack of infrastructure found in the West. However, the Twitter CEO is known to be a visionary for the crypto industry and, if he believes that Africa has great potential for the future, others may follow suit.
