Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin will join the board of directors of the Hyperledger blockchain consortium. The organization was created by the Linux Foundation and recently added the Consensys studio to its members.
Lubin founded Consensys to participate in the development of the Ethereum project and focuses in particular on the interoperability between blockchains.
This will also be the main project in which the Consensys studio will participate as part of the Hyperledger blockchain consortium. The organization will also promote standards to support “quality blockchain ecosystems for companies”.
PegaSys ConsenSys
The PegaSys protocol engineering group ConsenSys recently launched the Ethereum client known as Pantheon. This project has been renamed Hyperledger Besu and aims to provide a platform for “open development and implementation”. It is also the first public project compatible with the Hyperledger blockchain.
Lubin said:
“PegaSys and ConsenSys are committed to providing open source software, and the transmission of the Hyperledger Besu project to Hyperledger demonstrates this commitment. Public networks with tens of thousands of nodes are perfect in a world where we will see the tokenization of many types of assets and resources. “
Hyperledger now has over 270 member companies in industries such as finance, banking, IoT, supply chains, production and technology. The Governing Board now includes 22 members.
“The more technologies and members collaborate, the stronger the basis we can collectively build for blockchain-based solutions,”
said Brian Behlendorf, Hyperledger’s executive director.
