Bitwise Bitcoin ETF Trust has selected several service providers for its Bitcoin Exchange Traded Fund (ETF), pending approval by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Bank of New York (BNY) Mellon will act as administrator and agent for the transfer of securities Bitwise Bitcoin ETF Trust, as well as custodian ETF, in accordance with the modified form S-1, submitted to the SEC this week.
Foreside Fund Services has been named Asset Sales Agent and Cohen & Co. – an auditor. Bitwise Bitcoin ETF Trust has yet to appoint a custodian of BTC, who will be responsible for the safety of bitcoins belonging to the trust.
The company initially filed an application for an ETF for bitcoin in conjunction with the NYSE Arca in January 2019. Since then, the deadlines for considering the application have been repeatedly postponed. The final decision is scheduled for October 13.
Last week, VanEck and SolidX also hired BNY Mellon as administrator and securities transfer agent for their limited edition ETF, launched earlier this month.
