The company noted that if a person entered this data on a fake resource, they got to the attackers.
“The attackers also use vishing – voice phishing, that is, they try to induce a person to call them at the specified number. If the victim falls for the hook and calls back, they begin to” process it. dangerous software,” the company said.
According to one of the fraudulent schemes, a person visited a dubious resource or was redirected to it from a spam email, suddenly a banner appeared on the screen with the message “Windows was blocked due to suspicious activity.” Allegedly, a threat — a spyware Trojan — was detected on the user’s device.
“In the same message, a person was asked to immediately contact technical support at the specified phone number in order to avoid a “complete failure of the computer.” In reality, the attackers simply showed a banner in full screen mode. So they tried to convince the person that his computer was really locked,” added in company.
