Law firm is targeting Nvidia after the controversies surrounding the Geforce GTX 970

The discovery that the Geforce GTX 970 contains an odd and previously unknown memory configuration forced Nvidia to change the specifications, but it’s not as simple as just adjusting a few numbers. Dissatisfied customers demand compensation and some even go so far as to return the graphics card, even though the results from the performance tests are still correct.

Now the American law firm Bursor & Fisher is opening its eyes to the fact that Nvidia may well have been guilty of false marketing of the Geforce GTX 970. On its own website, the person who acquired the graphics card is asked to contact one of the lawyers to “discuss” how the graphics card performs. , likely to get in touch with dissatisfied users and be able to prepare a class action lawsuit.

Nvidia maintains, however, that no mistakes have been made, but emphasizes that this is not a defect but a conscious design decision with only a marginal impact on performance. The graphics card maker claims that the segmented video memory is a feature of the Maxwell architecture that makes more video memory available than would otherwise have been possible to utilize.
