Payment giants Mastercard and Visa have invested in fintech company Plaid, which has recently reached $ 2.5 billion. The amount of investment is not disclosed.

Plaid co-founder and CEO Zach Perret announced this on his blog, saying the firm is on its way to creating a consumer-oriented financial ecosystem that will “greatly enhance the ability of clients to manage their financial lives”.

Currently, Plaid gives users the opportunity to connect their bank accounts to the application and serves customers of cryptocurrency companies, including the Coinbase exchange and the Abra wallet operator.
