Media: Austrian power engineers faced unprecedented hatred of citizens

MOSCOW, 7 Oct – PRIME. Austrian restaurateur Ulrich Matschweiger has introduced a menu with “special prices” at his establishment due to an unprecedented increase in electricity prices, writes the Berliner Zeitung.

In particular, today in the Matschweiger restaurant guests will have to pay almost 300 euros for a full meal.

For example, for a Viennese schnitzel, a visitor will have to pay 149 euros, a Greek salad with butter will cost 54 euros, and sweet pancakes will cost 42 euros. The owner of the establishment is saddened by the fact that at such prices on the menu, many guests do not want to dine: after all, the average price for a schnitzel in similar establishments is about 25 euros.

Although he clarified that these prices are not for all the guests of his institution, but only for power engineers. With this, the restaurateur wants to turn the weapons of employees of energy companies against themselves: after all, it is they who profit from ordinary citizens during an unprecedented energy crisis in Europe. He cited his energy payments as an example: in just a couple of months, the bills grew from 300 euros by almost 20 times and now he sees receipts for 5200 euros.
