Media: oil from Sakhalin-2 is not subject to price restrictions
TOKYO, Sep 2 – PRIME Oil from the Sakhalin II project is not subject to Russian oil price caps, a senior Japanese finance ministry official told the Kyodo news agency.
The expert told how the “price ceiling” will affect the energy market
As an exception, oil from the Sakhalin-2 oil and gas project will not be subject to a price limit for Russian oil, the official told the agency.
Earlier it was reported that the decision to impose a limit on the price of Russian oil was made at a meeting of the heads of finance ministries and heads of central banks of the G7 countries unanimously.
The day before, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that it was time to set a price limit for Russian pipeline gas entering Europe. According to her, EU energy ministers will discuss this issue during an extraordinary meeting on 9 September.
