Media: Sweden stopped supplying electricity to Poland due to an accident
WARSAW, Oct. 10 — PRIME. The transmission of electricity from Sweden to Poland was stopped due to an accident, radio station RMF FM reports.
Azerbaijan and Georgia discussed details of electricity supplies to Europe
“The transmission of electricity from Sweden to Poland was suspended overnight. The accident was discovered at a Swedish station on land,” the report says.
It is noted that the Danish island of Bornholm also faced a power outage.
With reference to a representative of the Swedish side, RMF FM reports that the electric cable running along the bottom of the Baltic Sea was not damaged. The accident occurred at a transformer station on the Swedish side due to low oil levels.
The Danish side is expected that the accident will be eliminated as early as Monday.
In 2000, a cable was put into operation, running along the bottom of the Baltic Sea from Karlshamn to the Polish Ivbicin near Slupsk. It can transmit electrical energy with a capacity of 600 megawatts at a voltage of 450 kilovolts.
