Microsoft will end support for Internet Explorer

Microsoft representatives have officially announced that the legacy browser will be phased out in favor of a promising new Microsoft Edge product that meets all modern web standards.

According to the developers, Internet Explorer will stop syncing with the corporate messenger Microsoft Teams as early as November 2020. Then, in August 2021, IE support will be disabled in OneDrive, Microsoft Office 365 and other services. Thus, the browser will finally lose its status as the main link in the ecosystem of Microsoft products. It also became known that from March 2021 support for another outdated Microsoft Edge Legacy browser will be discontinued.

The sensational news caused a mixed reaction from the Internet community, since many users still habitually use Internet Explorer at home and in the office. Also, this browser is required to run old applications and to work with some government services.

In turn, Microsoft representatives assured fans of the outdated browser that there is nothing to worry about, since the new Microsoft Edge browser coming to replace has a function of backward compatibility with all versions of Internet Explorer, which will make it easy to replace it in the consumer and corporate segments.
