MOSCOW, 29 Sep — PRIME. The Ministry of Digital Transformation appealed to the heads of IT companies and telecom operators with a request to pay mobilized workers monthly payments in the amount of at least 80% of wages, pay several salaries at a time, and issue VMI policies for families. This was reported in the ministry.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation specified that many programmers, engineers, and cybersecurity specialists will receive deferrals to keep communication networks stable, “repel cyber attacks, support existing digital services and launch new ones,” but there are those who will serve in the army.
“We ask the heads of IT companies and telecom operators to take care of the mobilized employees: provide them with monthly payments in the amount of at least 80% of their wages, pay several salaries at a time, issue VHI policies for families. This is the minimum that we must do now,” – said in a message published on the agency’s Telegram channel.
In Russia, a partial mobilization has been announced by presidential decree since September 21. According to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, 300 thousand people are subject to conscription from the reserve, primarily those with combat experience and the military registration specialty necessary for the troops.
The Ministry of Defense also reported that in order to ensure the operation of certain high-tech industries, as well as the financial system of Russia, a decision was made not to recruit citizens with higher education in the relevant specialties and areas of training as part of the partial mobilization of citizens with higher education. In particular, we are talking about the fact that IT, communications, media and finance specialists will not be involved in partial mobilization. The Ministry of Digital Development supported this decision.
