In a little over a week, Nvidia will release the first graphics card from the 28-nanometer generation, apparently a model named the Geforce GTX 680. On Chinese Chiphell, more pictures of the upcoming graphics card will now be published.
Nvidia’s counterpart to the Radeon HD 7970 is based on the GK104 graphics processor with 1,536 CUDA cores, 256-bit memory bus and 2 or 4 GB of GDDR5 memory. The pictures show a model with full-coverage cooler, connectors for up to three graphics cards in SLI and two 6-pin power connectors. Worth noting is also the new logo for the Geforce series.
According to the same source, the GK104 has a circuit area of 294 mm2 with 3.54 billion transistors and about 190 W TDP. The official launch will take place on March 22.
