Multithreaded copying – the solution from Microsoft!

Copying files is a necessary process for absolutely all computer users. At first glance, this is a simple matter, copy a file, but if we are talking about large volumes, then the standard solutions Microsoft not entirely comfortable. But no one thinks that there are other third-party programs that do much better copying than standard software. Windows.

Every self-respecting file manager has its own built-in system for copying files, and does not use standard solutions Windows… Believe it or not, the differences between using standard copy / paste and other developers’ programs are quite tangible. Microsoft… They have had a program called RichCopy for a long time, which is amazing in its copying speed. This program has been around for a long time, just Microsoft did not announce it, i.e. some adjustments had to be made. Now RichCopy is available to everyone!

For a long time, the RichCopy program was used only within the company itself Microsoft… It was a good tool for copying files, but now the program is available to all users. Windows… This free software is designed to help you speed up the process of copying files, both on your local computer and when transferring files from a remote server. But the advantages of the software do not end there, there are also a number of functions, thanks to which the program cannot be compared with competitors.

The main window of the program is not large, but with a few buttons you can customize everything you need. There you will see the program settings, the copy source window and the window with the folder into which you copy your files. There are also buttons to start the process and cancel, you can paste / cut / copy text and reset the log data – all this is a panel of additional buttons.

In the advanced settings, you can configure each copy stream separately. This really sets the program apart from the rest. With this tool you can create profiles to copy and switch between them easily.

Another significant advantage of the RichCopy program is that you can create tasks and execute them in time, or set the priority for some attributes (security, file size, format).

But the main advantage of the software is multithreading. You can create as many threads as you need and the program will do everything. In this case, the program will successfully process not only files, but also subfolders, no matter how many there are. The program will do its job perfectly with any file structure.

You can adjust the size of the cache files for copying and searching. Copy limit – 4 mb, and for searching – 10 gb… During our tests, these limits turned out to be enough, they are even exaggerated, and RichCopy did not load the system.
