Nestlé extends blockchain monitoring to its Zoégas coffee brand

Nestlé now use the platform IBM Food Trust to follow his brand of Zoégas coffee on the blockchain.

The Swiss multinational has established a partnership with the American NGO Rainforest Alliance in order to strengthen the coffee traceability and expand the use ofIBM Food Trust to his mark Zoegas. She follows her new range of products Zoegas “Summer 2020” distributed in Sweden and offering a blend of Arabica coffee beans (Brazil, Rwanda and Colombia) certified by the Rainforest Alliance.

Nestlé has partnered with a trusted third party – Rainforest Alliance – to independently provide reliable data beyond what is commonly disclosed by the company, "wrote Nestlé.

Thanks to the data recorded on the blockchain, consumers are able to accurately trace the origin of their coffee. By scanning a QR code, they can indeed follow the coffee from the cultivation sites to the Zoégas factory in Helsingborg. They also have access to information on the farmers, the harvest and the roasting period.
