Not all reviewers Radeon R9 Nano

At the end of August, AMD introduced the shrunken graphics card Radeon R9 Nano, which is the latest with the graphics processor Fiji under the hood. Although AMD has already revealed most of the news, it was not about a sharp launch. Deliveries and independent performance tests will instead be delayed until 10 September.

It now appears that a number of well-known reviewers do not have test copies. The Tech Report goes out with a public call while HardOCP and Techpowerup make complaints that AMD for unclear reasons has chosen to exclude certain websites from the launch of the Radeon R9 Nano.

On Twitter Scott Wasson announces on The Tech Report that AMD cites limited resources as the main reason for the missing test copies. This raises questions about the availability of Radeon R9 Nano and other Fiji-based graphics cards. Previous data speaks of low yield for the complex graphics processor, which can make it difficult to spin the supplies.

However, not everyone accepts AMD’s statement. In many forums, there are discussions of the more conspiratorial kind about the company deliberately opting out of certain reviewers in order to instead focus on technology sites that are perceived as more positive about the latest graphics cards in the Radeon series.
