Novak: Russia should participate in the investigation of the emergency at Nord Stream

MOSCOW, 5 Oct – PRIME. The investigation into Nord Stream should be carried out with the participation of Russian specialists until the operators, Gazprom and Rostekhnadzor are not admitted to it, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

Germany wants to start its own investigation into the emergency at Nord Stream

“As for Nord Stream 1 and one branch of Nord Stream 2, today Denmark and Sweden have announced that they have launched an investigation. Unfortunately, neither the operator of the Nord Stream project nor our structures have been admitted to this investigation so far -” Gazprom, Rostekhnadzor,” Novak told Rossiya 24 TV channel.

“We believe that such an investigation should be carried out objectively, with the participation of Russian specialists, so that there is an objective picture of what happened. Only after that it will be possible to draw the appropriate conclusions. Therefore, we insist on this participation and expect that such work will be carried out jointly with our specialists,” the Deputy Prime Minister added.

The attacks took place on September 26 at once on two Russian export gas pipelines to Europe – Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2. The Nord Stream operator Nord Stream AG reported that the state of emergency on gas pipelines is unprecedented and it is impossible to estimate the repair time.
