The launch of Nvidia’s next-generation graphics card in the “Ampere” family, or the Geforce RTX 3000 series, is as long-awaited as it is shrouded in obscurity. As usual, the company is silent about exact specifications and dates, but now reports are emerging from Chinese Mydrivers that mark September 17 as the launch date.
Where the date is to be considered a rumor, the source according to Videocardz also believes that Nvidia will phase in the upcoming graphics card series step by step, similar to the launch of “Turing” and the Geforce RTX 2000 series. The initial launch date is also said this time according to rumors to only apply to the top cards in the series, ie the supposed RTX 3080 and its big brother 3080 Ti or 3090.

Like “Turing”, the launch will not include a more budget-friendly alternative, which in this case applies to a successor to the Geforce RTX 2070. Mydrivers believes that the Geforce RTX 3070 will instead enter the market one month after its higher-performing siblings, ie in October . The Geforce RTX 3060 also gets the same delay, and is rumored to be launched instead during the month of November.
By November, AMD’s upcoming “Big Navi” is also rumored to have reached the market – a strong launch season awaits.
