Nvidia bundles Geforce graphics cards with Splinter Cell: Blacklist

AMD continues to invest heavily in included game titles when purchasing a graphics card and recently upgraded the Never Settle campaign to the new “Forever” model. Nvidia has so far not been as ambitious with similar offers, but is looking to change that in a new collaboration with the gaming house Ubisoft.

The first part is that Nvidia has initiated a closer collaboration with Ubisoft to optimize future game titles according to their graphics cards with associated technologies. This includes edge smoothing via TXAA, “soft shadows”, lighting with Horizon-Based Ambient Occlusion (HBAO +) and DirectX 11 tessellation.

Part two is that Nvidia will ship with Splinter Cell: Blacklist when purchasing a Geforce GTX 660, 660 Ti, 670, 680, 760, 770 or 780 in collaboration with participating resellers. It is not clear whether the campaign will also apply to upcoming game titles such as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag or Watch Dogs.
