Nvidia confirms manufacturing problems for Geforce RTX 2080 Ti

In September, Nvidia launched its new generation of graphics cards, where the architecture Turing is housed under the hood. The parade numbers are spelled hardware-accelerated ray tracing, dedicated components for machine learning, high memory bandwidth thanks to new GDDR6 memories and finally updated SM clusters.

Shortly after launch, some users reported concerns about blue screens and stability issues, where it turned out that the screen could be the culprit in the drama. But now Nvidia confirms via the company’s forum that this is not the case, but that the company had problems with the production of the first Geforce RTX 2080 Ti cards.

In concrete terms, this means that circuit boards have slipped through quality control even though they did not meet the standard, which in turn leads to stability problems of the kind discovered with crashes and graphic artifacts. It is worth mentioning that Nvidia specifically addresses Founders Edition, as models from partner manufacturers often run customized circuit boards.

Nvidia encourages all users who have encountered problems to contact the company’s support to have their defective graphics card replaced.

Have you experienced any similar problems with your Geforce RTX 2080 Ti, or other card from the RTX 2000 series?
