NVIDIA could launch the GeForce RTX 4090 first and then the RTX 4080/70

Just a few months after the official announcement of the new NVIDIA GPUs based on the Ada Lovelace architecture, the company’s launch strategy is beginning to leak out among insiders. The information published by 3DCenter.org shows that the company could bet on the launch of the very powerful RTX 4090and later release the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070.

Although the site thinks that they could also bet first on the RTX 4080 as they did with the 3080 and 2080 and then present the RTX 4090 and RTX 4070 models, the informant kopite7kimi afirma that this would not be the case. On his personal Twitter he stated that he had confirmation that the manufacturer will bet on its most powerful model at launch.

If this turns out to be true, NVIDIA would be breaking one of its traditions, Since as I told you before in the note, in recent years, the company has been launching new GPU lines initially with the x080 model, to later present variants with more power or less power.

The decision to present the RTX 4090 would be a way of sending a “message” to its competitor AMD and to the public. Rumors indicate that the Radeon RX 7970 XT may take a big performance leap capable of beating NVIDIA’s best offering, and NVIDIA can’t risk showing consumers weaker hardware.

The RTX 4090 should be based on the AD102 GPU and feature 16128 CUDA cores, 26GB of 24Gbps GDDR6X memory, and a TDP of 450W. Rumors have indicated that this should translate to twice the performance offered by the RTX 3090, which would be further boosted in a Ti model.

Although so far NVIDIA has only confirmed that it is preparing great news for the second half of 2022So far the company has not confirmed any of the leaked information about its new GPUs.
