Nvidia DLSS arrives on Rust, LEGO Builder’s Journey and looks to the Linux world

Nvidia DLSS, AI technology designed to increase performance while preserving graphics quality, is preparing for arrive in new titles which will be added to the over 55 that already implement it: among these we find Control, Cyberpunk 2077, Fortnite, CoD: Warzone and many other popular titles.

The US company has announced support for DLSS by Rust, popular survival multiplayer by Facepunch Studios, starting from July 1st, while you can enable it now also in Necromunda: Hired Gun e Chernobylite.

These additions come alongside five recent announcements of titles that will earn DLSS very soon, if not immediately: LEGO Builder’s Journey today June 22, DOOM Eternal on June 29 and Red Dead Redemption 2 coming soon. In addition, in recent weeks, we have seen DLSS land in Rainbow Six Siege, No Man’s Sky and The Persistence, as well as in the form of plugin for the new Unreal Engine 5 from June 17th, which will make it easy to integrate into next-generation games.

Don’t forget that the plugin has already been available for UE4 since February, and in fact the pace at which DLSS has been integrated into games has increased since then. DLSS will also be a native technology of Unity starting from the future 2021.2 release and there are a dozen proprietary engines that support the technology that uses the Tensor cores of Nvidia GPUs.

The latest news is the arrival of the DLSS support on Linux for Vulkan API-based games via Proton. It starts with DOOM Eternal, No Man’s Sky and Wolfenstein: Youngblood, with support for DirectX titles with DLSS also via Proton coming this fall.
