Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti in Max-Q Design get specifications

In 2017, Nvidia introduced its Max-Q Design concept, which is a type of graphics card design where both software and hardware are optimized to keep sound level and size down without compromising on performance. This allows high-performance graphics cards such as the Geforce GTX 1080 to be used in thin laptops.

The selection of these is so far limited to Geforce GTX 1060, GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 and a new driver from Nvidia recently indicated that a variant of GTX 1050 Ti is also on the way. Via Hardwareluxx, specifications for this can now be found on the web, as well as the sibling Geforce GTX 1050.

As with other models, these are reduced clock frequencies together with lower power consumption, where the Geforce GTX 1050 goes down to a base frequency of between 1,151 and 1,290 MHz and a turbo frequency of between 1,290 and 1,417 MHz.

For the Geforce GTX 1050 Ti in the Max-Q Design version, the base frequency is between 999 and 1,189 MHz and the turbo frequency is between 1,139 and 1,328 MHz. Reportedly, the first device with the new graphics cards will be the Lenovo Yoga 720S. However, no launch date or price is yet known.
