After more than a year on the sidelines, AMD again took the performance segment with the Radeon RX Vega 64 and RX Vega 56, where the latter gave Nvidia’s bestseller Geforce GTX 1070 a match in terms of performance and price. This should have been one of the reasons why Nvidia plans to launch a new mid-range model at the top – GTX 1070 Ti.

Ahead of the launch, which is expected to take place at the end of October, the specifications have begun to find their way onto the web. In addition to a sharp increase in base frequency, there has been talk of many more CUDA cores, which means that the graphics card’s theoretical performance on paper appears to be closer to the Geforce GTX 1080 than the GTX 1070.
Something that has been much speculated about is what type of memory the Geforce GTX 1070 Ti should be equipped with. Now the latest rumors suggest that Nvidia will not switch to fast GDDR5X or stop at the same GDDR5 as for the GTX 1070, without the model, like the refreshed version of the GTX 1060, getting a record-breaking GDDR5.
The effective clock frequency 9,000 MHz is an increase of 12.5 percent compared to the regular GTX 1070, something that completely sonic gives a corresponding boost in theoretical bandwidth – from 256 to 288 GB / s. This would mean that the GTX 1070 Ti is located between the GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 in memory bandwidth.
In terms of price, the Geforce GTX 1070 Ti is expected to land at 429 USD, ie 50 USD or around 500 kronor more than a regular GTX 1070.
