The latest graphics architecture from Nvidia is called Turing, and in the upper performance segment, it has replaced the aging Pascal and Geforce GTX 1000 series. As for the lower price and performance classes, Nvidia has not yet announced any new graphics cards, but Geforce RTX 2070 for around SEK 6,000 acts as an entry-level model for those who currently want a Turing-based product.

Rumors about the mid-range variant Geforce RTX 2060 have, however, been hailed in recent weeks and recently pictures were published depicting the card in reference. Videocardz now reports that they have put their hands on documentation for reviewers (English reviewers’ guide) regarding the said graphics card, where approximate performance and price are flanked by specifications and launch dates.

* Values apply to Nvidia’s Founders Edition of each model, which comes with 90 MHz overclocking. In addition to slightly higher performance, this in all cases leads to an increase in TDP of 10 W.
As expected, the Geforce RTX 2060 is based on a scaled-down variant of the TU106 graphics circuit, which in full-scale design is used in the Geforce RTX 2070. The mid-range model will have 6 of 36 SM clusters disabled, which means 1,920 CUDA cores and 30 cores dedicated to ray tracingfunctions. Base and turbo frequencies are set to 1,365 and 1,680 MHz respectively.
In addition, a memory bus of 192 bits and 6 GB of GDDR6 memory with a frequency of 14,000 MHz apply, for a theoretical bandwidth of 336 GB / s. Previous information has been rumored that several memory configurations may be on input, but these are not mentioned in the material.
A single 8-pin ATX connector is responsible for the power supply and the TDP value is specified at 160 watts, which is a real step up from 120 watts that applies to the predecessor Geforce GTX 1060. Just like for the Geforce RTX 2070, the upcoming model lacks connections to connect multiple graphics cards.
The material also includes performance figures from a number of different games, and in titles without Turing-exclusive features, the Geforce RTX 2060 is said to keep pace with the Geforce GTX 1070 Ti. Also figures from Battlefield V with ray tracing set to the Ultra level is available. With a resolution of 2,560 × 1,440 pixels, the card delivers 43 frames per second (FPS). As usual, however, it is recommended to wait for independent tests.
However, Nvidia does not offer any performance figures from the Geforce RTX 2000 family and the results from Battlefield V with ray tracing are therefore difficult to compare. When SweClockers tested the single player mode War Stories: Tirailleur, the Geforce RTX 2070 landed at 45 frames per second, with the same resolution and level of detail for ray tracing.
Finally, it appears that the Geforce RTX 2060 will be unveiled on January 7, and then land in stores on January 15. The recommended price should be $ 349 for cards from Nvidia and partner manufacturers. For those who want models overclocked from the factory, however, only models from partner manufacturers will be available.
