This mid-range graphics card will make your PC gaming dreams come true and give you access to ray tracing at maximum 1080p resolution. Review of Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 more …

pros:

  • The video card is ready for 4K with 30 FPS in games;
  • 1080p ray tracing for gaming
  • Works much better than the previous graphics card;

Minuses:

  • Slightly more expensive than its predecessor graphics card;
  • RTX has a big impact on QHD and 4R performance;

With each new generation of Nvidia graphics cards, we see one GPU in a series gaining massive performance boosts, making it virtually unrecognizable relative to its predecessor. The last time such a graphics card was the Nvidia GTX 1070, which has become a completely new beast, and now it’s the turn of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060.

The Nvidia RTX 2060 has come a long way from the lean and pliable middle child of Nvidia’s line of graphics cards. This is a new graphics card that fully masters Full HD and QHD gaming, and can also provide 4K gaming and even let you enjoy Nvidia’s vision of the future.

Yes, the graphics card costs a little more than its predecessor, but that’s the price we’ll happily pay for the best Nvidia graphics card.

| GEFORCE RTX 2060 PRICES AND AVAILABILITY

As we expected, the new Nvidia RTX 2060 graphics card will cost more than $ 349 (RUR 23,000) compared to $ 300 (RUR 20,000) for the graphics card it replaces, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060. Fortunately, the price increase is not as large as with high-performance graphics cards of the new generation of the company.

Interestingly, Nvidia hasn’t announced the RTX 2060 in multiple price points like other cards in the Turing series. Pricing simply starts at RUR 23,000, allowing third-party partners to create more affordable or expensive graphics cards as they wish.

Despite the higher price, the video card breaks through its weight class and looks more like a replacement for the Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti, starting at $ 449 (29,000 r). The graphics card still lags behind the older, Nvidia RTX 2070, but puts the AMD Radeon RX Vega and Radeon RX 590 Fatboy in place.

| GEFORCE RTX 2060 FEATURES & CHIPSET

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 is a step up from its predecessor. Equipped with 6GB of the latest GDDR6 video memory (14Gbps) and 50% more CUDA cores, the graphics card offers much more performance. Whereas the Nvidia GTX 1060 was designed for 1080p gaming and could play some games at 1440p, the RTX 2060 plays games in Full HD at high frame rates, delivering excellent results at 1440p and even some 4K games. where we see about 30 frames per second.

This is largely due to the fact that the RTX 2060 is based on a modified version of the Turing TU106 GPU found in the GeForce RTX 2070. While technically this means you are getting a stripped-down version of a high-end graphics card, most of the performance remains affordable and is the main reason for performance. a new mid-range graphics card.

The only thing that sobering up our excitement is the lack of NVLink or any other form of SLI on the RTX 2060. This means users will have to buy the much more expensive RTX 2070 or RTX 2080 – rather than just plugging in another RTX 2060 – if they want to add more graphics performance to their gaming PC.

| GEFORCE RTX 2060: PERFORMANCE

In our synthetic benchmarks, the Nvidia RTX 2060 not only outperformed its predecessor, but also the latest generation flagship graphics cards such as the Nvidia RTX 1070 Ti. The only graphics cards that outperform the Nvidia RTX 2060 are the significantly more expensive Nvidia RTX 2070 and AMD Radeon RX Vega 56. Until AMD announces new graphics cards, you won’t find another mid-range graphics card that is more powerful than this.

All of this also means great gaming experiences. The Nvidia RTX 2060 is more than powerful enough to keep frame rates above 60 in Full HD, making it music to the ears of owners of high refresh rate monitors. Meanwhile, the graphics card also delivers a 4K playable experience, reaching 30fps in our tests.

Despite the fact that the RTX 2060 currently has the smallest set of RT and tensor cores within the Turing family, it is still capable of implementing all the new solutions of the Turing architecture, including DLSS and ray tracing. In fact, the new graphics card can play Battlefield V at 70-75 frames per second, while the game runs at 1080p with Ultra settings and active ray tracing.

Unfortunately, setting the resolution to 2560 x 1440 drops the frame rate to 45 fps if left on Ultra and tracing. That said, 4K at the same settings remains surprisingly playable with a frame rate of around 25.

Our Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 review also shows that the new dual-fan cooler does a great job with the RTX 2060 being much more efficient than previous Pascal graphics cards.

| GEFORCE RTX 2060: SUMMING UP

While we’re disappointed that Nvidia has once again raised the price of PC games with the RTX 2060, it’s hard to argue with this card’s amazing performance. The new mid-range gamer plays 1080p games with ease, spins up to 1440p and can even play games at 4K (if you don’t mind 30fps).

The Nvidia RTX 2060 is roughly Rs 3,000 more than the previous generation, but we’ll happily ditch the imaginary savings for the RTX 2060 versus the GTX 1060 – as well as the GTX 1070 and GTX 1070 Ti – due to the graphics card being much more capable and lasting longer. The new graphics card promises to give users a taste of the ray tracing that Nvidia is promoting, but without the hefty expense of other graphics cards from the company.

Users on a tight budget can opt for countless versions of the Radeon RX 590 when content with Full HD gaming. Otherwise, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 is currently considered the best mid-range graphics card you can buy.
