Nvidia reserves part of TSMC's 5nm production: what will they surprise us with?

HD Tecnología

New reports indicate that Nvidia would have reserved some of TSMC's remaining free production at its 5nm chip factory, although nobody knows what he reserved it for.

As far as is known, Ampere-based GPUs will arrive manufactured under the 7nm process, and possibly will remain for two years as Nvidia has been doing lately, so possibly not GPUs. The possibilities being considered are a new SOC Tegra for the Switch? or some car chip, another market in which Nvidia is investing a lot of money. However, there are no certainties, at least for the moment.

The Digitimes report indicates that AMD and Apple also reserved much of this process, although this is something that was known long ago. Apple will launch its new A14 chip at 5nm this year, while AMD will launch its Zen 4 CPUs based on this process next year.
