After wrapping up its CES 2022 conference, where the GeForce RTX 3050 was announced, Nvidia revealed that it had one more “surprise”, officially showing the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Founders Edition, its new top-of-the-line graphics card. The company confirmed that it will have 40 Shader-TFLOPs, 78 RT-TFLOPs, 320 Tensor TFLOPs, and 24GB of GDDR6X memory at 21Gbps, although it did not confirm how many Cuda Cores it will have or reveal any performance charts, information that it promised will arrive before the end. of month.
As a comparison the RTX 3090 offers 36 Shader-TFLOPs, 69 RT TFLOPs and 285 Tensor TFLOPs, so theoretically the RTX 3090 Ti will offer at least 10% more power than the standard RTX 3090. Unfortunately, as it does not have performance charts, it is not known how much this improvement will be in practice, although we will know at the end of the month, when this graphics card is launched on the 27th.
What else is known about this new top-of-the-range card:
If the rumors are true, the RTX 3090 Ti will feature a total of 10752 Cuda Cores and a boost frequency of 1860MHz, resulting in these 40 TFLOPs that Nvidia mentions. It would also have a high TGP of 450W and would be the first GPU to use the new 12-pin PCI-E 5.0 power connector, avoiding using three or even four 8-pin PCI-E connectors to support its high consumption. Clearly Nvidia is looking to deliver the maximum of Ampere without worrying about any other aspect other than performance, and for that reason it does not matter the consumption if it allows to increase the performance a little more.
Something that has not yet been confirmed is the price of this graphics card, although we do not believe that its suggested price is below US $ 1999, which implies that its real price will be around US $ 3000. As with the specifications and performance numbers will have to wait until the 27th to know its price, so stay tuned to HD Tecnología to get to know all the news that is announced.
