Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang is awarded the Robert N. Noyce Prize

The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) awards the Robert N. Noyce Prize annually, a prestigious award that shares its name with Intel’s co-founder and inventor of the first integrated circuit, Robert N. Noyce.

The tradition began in 1991 and previous recipients include TSMC’s founder Morris Chang and most recently AMD’s CEO Lisa Su. Now SIA presents this year’s winner, who is no less than Nvidia’s founder and CEO Jen-Hsun “Jensen” Huang. This is justified, among other things, by the fact that Jensen’s tireless commitment and extraordinary visions have strengthened the entire industry.

Jensen Huang’s extraordinary vision and tireless execution have greatly strengthened our industry, revolutionized computing, and advanced artificial intelligence,” said John Neuffer, SIA president and CEO. “Jensen’s accomplishments have fueled countless innovations—from gaming to scientific computing to self-driving cars—and he continues to advance technologies that will transform our industry and the world. We’re pleased to recognize Jensen with the 2021 Robert N. Noyce Award for his many achievements in advancing semiconductor technology. – The Semiconductor Industry Association

Jensen announces in an official statement that he feels honored to receive the award. He emphasizes that he also receives it on behalf of his colleagues, as the award is also a recognition of their hard work. The prize will be awarded during an accompanying gala dinner on 18 November.
