Overclocker breaks record and reaches almost 10000MHz in DDR5 memory

The professional overclock always gives us surprises and now it is the Chinese Overclocker Lupin_no_Musume who has just beaten his own record and is very close to reaching the frequency of 10000MHz in a DDR5 memory. The feat was accomplished with an Intel Core i9-12900, ROG Maximus Z690 motherboard and G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5 memos, plus many liters of liquid nitrogen, to achieve an overclock of 9559.4MHz, beating its previous record of 8888MHz.

Increasing the overclocking capacity by about 8%, Lupin_no_Musume would only need 440.6 MHz to reach the ten thousand mark. Since they are very close to the feat, it will not be surprising that the value will soon be surpassed in the coming weeks.

The first point that we can highlight is the marked frequency of 4779.7, since DDR5 has a data transfer factor doubled, the real value is twice the marked, in this case 4779.7 x2 which is equivalent to the frequency of 9559.4MHz.

What’s more, the overclocker needed high times, working at 127-120-120-120-127 to achieve stability. In the previous record, he was 88-88-88-88. That is, I needed to increase the number of cycles, delaying the start of the actions.

5th generation DDR memory is not easy to find in the market and according to the tests we did, DDR5 memory still does not show that impressive generational leap that we all expect.

Also, DDR5 memories come with integrated PMIC power controllers, which are currently in short supply. The result is the distinct lack of DDR5 kits to buy on the market. Therefore, the memories are practically sold out, and if you really want a kit you will have to search a lot and pay more for them.
