Peter Schiff solved the mystery around the loss of his bitcoins

American economist Peter schiff had actually confused his PIN code with his wallet password. Its assets in Bitcoin are lost forever.

On Twitter, Peter schiff, the CEO-founder ofEuro Pacific Capital, returned to the mystery surrounding the loss of bitcoins, which made headlines in the trade press earlier this week.

The 56-year-old entrepreneur said on Monday that he had lost access to his bitcoins because "his wallet was corrupt and his password was no longer valid".

In a tweet published this morning, Schiff explained that he had in fact confused his PIN code with the password of his crypto portfolio.

“I confused my PIN code with my password. When Blockchain.com updated its app, I signed out. I was tired of reconnecting using my PIN code, which was the only password I had ever known or used. Honest but costly mistake, ” he confessed.

In one second tweet, the traditional finance specialist said that since he had never written down his password or recovery phrase, his digital coins were permanently lost.

So it’s really a human error not a security problem related to the protocol Bitcoin or to the wallet supplier Blockchain.com.

Using a owner portfolio (or you are the only one with private keys) is undoubtedly the most secure way to keep bitcoins. However, getting to grips with such a portfolio can still be quite difficult for a novice, as this story proves again.
