HTC is restructuring the company to focus on blockchain products

Taiwanese electronics maker HTC has announced plans to reduce the number of employees. This will be the third major round of layoffs in recent years. In 2015, HTC fired 2,250 employees and in July 2018 fired another 1,500.

HTC claims that the latest workforce adjustment will allow the company to focus on innovation efforts. Priority products include EXODUS blockchain smartphones.

Launched in May 2018 at an initial price of 0.15 BTC, EXODUS includes a crypto hardware wallet. It also allows users to access decentralized exchanges.

In October, HTC released Exodus 1, a cheaper version of its previous product, with the ability to run a complete bitcoin node. In November, it was announced the plan to release a limited edition version of its EXODUS 1 phones, which will integrate Binance Chain.
