Dare investor Tim Draper sticks to his prediction: the bitcoin rate rises to $ 250,000. He expects the rate to go in that direction in six to twelve months after the bitcoin block halves. Draper said that in a recent interview with BlockTV. Draper also expects that bitcoin will be easier to use in the coming years.
Bitcoin block halving drives the course up
During the bitcoin block halving, the reward for bitcoin miners is halved. That reward is at the same time the inflow of new bitcoin on the market. In this way, the bitcoin block halving directly influences the supply of new bitcoin, and therefore also the price. Various analysts expect the price to rise after the bitcoin block halving.
Similarly Tim Draper:
“It is quite likely that bitcoin will be worth $ 250,000 by the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023. I also base this on consumer adoption. This adoption is growing. “
Draper expects people to use more bitcoin because credit card payments are too expensive:
“It’s so frustrating that banks always charge 2.5 to 4 percent transaction costs every time I use my credit card. It is really time for a new currency that is “frictionless.”
Women must take care of adoption
Tim Draper expects the adoption of bitcoin to continue to grow in the coming years. He also provides an important role for women in this:
“I think adoption is getting closer because 75 to 80 percent of online shopping is done by women. At the same time, only 1 in 5 bitcoin wallets are managed by a woman. So when women realize that they are always wasting 2.5 to 4 percent by using a credit card, they will definitely look for a better solution. “
It is difficult to solidify Draper’s figures, since bitcoin wallets cannot easily be traced to a person. Bitcoin addresses are pseudonyms. An address consists of random numbers and letters, and it is impossible at first sight to trace the person behind an address.
