Polish operator of the Druzhba oil pipeline began repairing a damaged line

WARSAW, Oct. 13 — PRIME. The Polish operator of the Druzhba oil pipeline, Pern, has begun work to repair the damaged pipeline, the company said in a statement.

Earlier, Pern informed about the depressurization of one of the two lines of the Druzhba oil pipeline leading to Germany.

“Pern technical services have already begun repairing a leaky pipeline that supplies oil to German customers. The goal is to restore tire operation as quickly as possible and fully resume the pumping of raw materials,” the message says.

The operator explained that last night “work was carried out to clean the pipeline from the remaining oil in it, which created a safe environment for troubleshooting.” At the same time, an “analysis related to the establishment of the cause of the incident” is carried out. Also, services for environmental protection and land reclamation are constantly working on site.

Earlier, Pern noted that it did not find the fault of third parties in the depressurization of the pipeline and the oil spill.
