Powercolor visar AMD Radeon RX Vega Red Devil

In August, AMD unveiled the Radeon RX Vega, which marked the company’s return to the market for high-performance graphics chips. Third-party cards would appear shortly thereafter in September, but as time went on, it became clear that this would not be the case. The reason for this is stated to be, among other things, manufacturing technical obstacles.

Recently, however, more and more third-party cards based on the Vega architecture have found their way onto the web. Now Powercolor joins Videocardz to this crowd, where the company reveals two pictures of a Radeon RX Vega 64 with a large graphics card cooler and associated circuit board.

This is a tailor-made radiator that takes up three expansion places thanks to a sturdy aluminum heat sink. Furthermore, the card is equipped with three fans in the size class 100 millimeters. The circuit board is based on the same twelve-phase design as AMD’s reference board, but has been widened to fit the larger cooler. Power is supplied via two 8-pin PCI Express connectors.

A remarkable detail is that the card is equipped with a BIOS switch, where users can choose between three separate BIOS. An additional switch is added to control the integrated LED lighting. In terms of video outputs, Powercolor has chosen to use two HDMI and two Display ports.

According to information, the RX Vega 64 version will start sales at the end of the month, while the RX Vega 56 variant will find its way onto store shelves in early December. Price and availability at Swedish retailers is still unknown.
