Putin expressed hope that the first unit of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant will be launched on time
SAMARKAND, 16 Sep – PRIME. Russian leader Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, expressed hope that the first unit of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant would be launched on time – in 2023.
“I would very much like the first unit to be launched on time, as we agreed, in 2023, when the centenary of the Turkish Republic will be celebrated,” the Russian president said.
Vladimir Putin stressed that all the problematic issues related to the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey had been closed and the final documents had been signed.
“There were certain issues related to the organization of the construction process itself. As far as I know, all these issues have been closed. Yesterday, final documents were signed that regulate all relations between the parties to this large grandiose construction project,” the Russian leader summed up.
