At a meeting with the president, Novak spoke about the reasons that hinder the pace of gasification, and the head of state agreed with him. “You correctly pointed out the reasons that hinder the development of the process – the cost of equipment, work inside the site, inside the house, installation,” the president said. He added that the average amount of payments to certain categories of citizens, including veterans and the disabled, in the regions is 70-80 thousand rubles, but the average cost of equipment can be 75 thousand rubles, work on laying a gas pipe inside the site – 45-50 thousand rubles, and sometimes equipment needs to be replaced. And then, as Putin said, the cost becomes unbearable.
“It is imperative to work out your proposal for additional support for citizens who need such support, and together with the regions to make an appropriate decision… households are connected to gas and this changes the quality of people’s lives, so I ask you to continue this work,” Putin said.
