Radeon RX 6600: near debut, prices already rising?

The debut on the market of the new AMD video cards of the Radeon RX 6600 family, GPU-based models known by the codename of Navi 23 which should incorporate the technical characteristics underlying the Navi 22 (Radeon RX 6700) and Navi 21 (Radeon RX 6800) solutions already on the market.

The technical characteristics of the Radeon RX 6600 cards, as the name suggests, will be attributable to the mid-range segment of the market but rumors published by the site Cotcowland let imagine that the actual market price of the first solutions on the market will not be very popular.

The retail price of these solutions it could in fact be between 499 and 549 Euros, a much higher figure than a price list between € 349 and € 399 that should in theory be applied to these new cards.

What could happen? Assuming that the new solutions Radeon RX 6600XT e Radeon RX 6600 will debut during the month of August and therefore in a few weeks, the official price lists indicated by AMD and its partners could immediately collide with a reduced market availability and with a consumer demand that will be very strong.

This dynamic, moreover, in place for many months in the entire component market and which continues to characterize the sales of video cards both AMD and NVIDIA, could lead to those increased prices indicated by Cotcowland and which, unfortunately, in light of the current scenario it is easy to hypothesize.

Much will depend on the volumes of cards that will be placed on the market, with the hope (indeed vain, given what has happened in recent months in this market) that AMD and its partners will be able to make these solutions available in adequate quantities to meet consumer demand.
