Radeon RX 6700 XT, when does it arrive? An exact date is circulating: March 18th

After seeing the debut of the high-end Radeon RX 6800, 6800 XT and 6900 XT cards late last year, AMD is expected with i mid-range models of the 6700 series. The company, at CES 2021, spoke generically of a debut within the first half of the year, but according to a tweet from the French site Cowcotland there is a exact date: March 18th.

For some time there was talk of the month of March or, even better, of the middle of the same month for the debut of the new cards, so March 18 falls exactly in the rumors. Unfortunately the availability, both on the basis of rumors and logic, it will be extremely limited since shortage improvement is not expected in the short term.

Based on the leaks leaked so far, on board the new proposals we will find a GPU Navi 22, with 40 Compute Units (2560 stream processors) for the XT model. At the moment there are no details on the GPU configuration on the smooth RX 6700, but there are those who speculate 32 CUs for 2048 shaders.

The Radeon RX 6700 XT should be accompanied by 12 GB of GDDR6 memory on 192-bit bus, while the lower model might only have 6GB of GDDR6 memory, with a bus of the same width. Both are rumored to have 96 MB of Infinity Cache, compared to 128 MB for the 6800/6900 models. As for the design, the reference solutions should have two fans, against the three of the higher-end models, in addition to more compact dimensions.
